Metal are back in a big way for fall, from mild shade for major-impact glitter reflections. They have been spotted on the slopes of shows who wanted to make it clear to the statement, including Monique Lhuillier and Zero + Maria Cornejo, go either for a scintillating full on smokey eye or just a dash in the lid. But being brave enough to wear a metallic shimmering high impact is not something that everyone is ready to do – what happened to the natural look?
Fortunately, metallics this fall come in steps – there are gentle reflections if you want to lighten glitter (which, let us remind you, is not more fair for children) and then there is flat-out party eyes “BOLD”, reflection. Below, break down us them.
This creamy bronze shade to Francesca Liberatore is the gateway drug perfect to a metallic look. Soft luster is easy to wear during the day or night, and may actually be reproduced with a single product. Currently, we love Longwear Cream Shadow Sticks of Bobbi Brown ($29) because all you have to do is color in the lid of your set with the applicator colour and you can run to the door. The color will really last until you remove it from night – even through the unbearably hot weather – and for shimmer is saying something.
If you want things amp up just a bit, concentrate your metal eye toward the corner internal, as artists have shown for Guy Laroche. We are not suggesting go as ‘disorder’ as they have done for this show, but integrating the shimmer of the angle internal highlights the white of your eyes, then concentrate your shadow there, spread a little color on your upper and lower lash lines. We love flamed on Shadow pencil of CoverGirl Ashen Glow flame ($5), a metallic green, which allows you to control a large.
Now, if you got comfortable with some shimmer and want to embrace yourself really disco, try a shade with a Pearly shine your eyelid, as seen on the runway of Leonard. We suggest this for a night (of course) but there are actually a few ways to get it. Bobbi Brown Silver Lilac shade ($33) has a large glitter Pearl, so you can apply the shadow slowly everywhere in your cover. Or, if you want to go All in, apply a cream base shade and tap MAC Transparent Pink Glitter ($22) lightly on the lid. Don’t forget, glitter is difficult to remove, then you’ll find anywhere for days.
As your metal bravery increases, it is time for some “BOLD” shades. Models do not go to zero + Maria Cornejo, full throttle with their shadow; Instead, the metallic shade actually sitting above the fold. Because that look is not exactly portable for every day (or even at night), it is preferable to use this beautiful metal shade draw just a cat for a more inspired Jack’s eye. To match the shade, use the eyeshadows of cooked Milani ($13) and wet an angled brush so that it becomes a light coating.
At this point, you have made metal makeup is overdone party in the 1980s and is just as good a back as a bright lip. Monique Lhuillier has full throttle for her show autumn 2015, so save this look for an event and you will earn some major accessories. To do this, you need glitter. The trick here is to apply a layer of a cream shadow first your base to help the flakes glitter to stay. Then, press the sequins in place. Alternatively, use beautiful metals aluminium finish Shadow of Stila ($32), which is sold with a primer to ensure that the brightness remains in place.
