Show last year from Joan Didions Céline to Joni Mitchell posing for Saint Laurent gave it no shortage of iconic celebrity women in fashion campaigns. While we were leaving, question me, whether the casting of women would be a Flash in the Pan trend in their 60s and 70s, we can now make sure it is not. On Wednesday morning, Katie Grand – the editor of love magazine, every season leading the creative campaigns for Marc Jacobs – unveiled the latest show for the New York brand, the nothing but Cher star.
The 69-year-old diva is the new face of Marc Jacobs and the first picture is amazing. Seriously, we cannot even create. If we could turn back the time we consumers in each of the designer would offer campaigns.
In the recording, which was photographed by David Sims and styled by Katie Grand, is the “believe” singer, sitting in a chair while dressed in a Morticia-esque pleated black Maxi dress with a matching jacket and a pair of leather gloves. Her long black locks are brushed out the bottom add some serious band.
“The amazing and beautiful CHER!” A photo of the singer in a black ensemble of a full skirt, wrote today on the Instagram Jacobs cropped jacket and gloves, photographed by David Sims share.
“This is just the beginning… More to come!” He added.
Aesthetic seen Cher’s not exactly chasing the grey pound to the latest “elderly woman” to the star in a campaign by Marc Jacobs – look her hair. But still the ad, photographed by David Sims, the 69-year-old singer in a floor length dress by Marc Jacobs and leather gloves shows is another example of fashion celebrating older women. Earlier this year, Joan Didion became the face of Céline. As casting goes, it is not surprising – Marc Jacobs brought Cher as his date at the met Gala. Also, it is pretty dreamy, grey hair or not.
