“Street wear” is not often a word associated with British heritage Burberry brand, but it is impossible to deny its influence on the label pre-fall. Aviator shearling armed oversize puffs and parkas boxy jackets the outerwear intelligently blends timeless aesthetics of Burberry with shapes that are very “now”. (There’s even a sports brand Sweatshirt!)
Capes and ponchos that became street style go – tos of the label are back in a big way as well, and the soloists are this time an option knitting fringed, blanket-like and a cape structured with a fur collar. If you are a fan of the sustained trend of the 1970s, Christopher Bailey has covered you there, too, with flared trousers, coats of Sweden, stripes retro, sports, running down the legs of trousers and polo shirts and fur star-worthy a rock.
Clothing that appears to be a cross between a cape and a classic trench has the most character in the collection and also shows inspiration from the 1970s with the addition of fur to the top. Oversized Cape has the adaptation we have grown to expect from the brand, while still comfortable appearing to protect us from the bright autumn breezes.
But we are faced with levels of comfort and warmth of all sizes, to take account of the often unpredictable weather of the season. That’s a lot much more versatile clothes, as you could potentially wear a jacket of this collection for the fall and winter. Especially coats thick or oversized.
Many of the jackets took looks like us expect the brand and makes them more grand and slouchier, as with the single red coat with sleeve tabs. The overall design is simple and something that you would expect to find, particularly in to an outlet of Burberry, but Bailey chose to enlarge the sleeves and collar in particular, clearly you wouldn’t just buy a big coat. Especially when layered, you can expect it will keep you warm in autumn and winter; just to see images you cannot help thinking to wrap in one yourself.
The flared plants are crisp with the oddity of 70 separate of concealing heels with their length. This trend can not hit the ground running in the world of fashion, but the go-ahead for the Decade is present and took note. The majority of the outwear reference specifically either the 1970s or is designs that could easily transition between this decade and today. Some models can easily be worn today without being recognized as a former trend due to their classic nature, but others refer directly to the Decade, in particular with the use of fur.
But perhaps one of the best clothes in Burberry autumn 2016 pre-collection is the Sweatshirt crewneck Burberry clip. You can never think of a same Sweatshirt for something other than a garment for a casual, but he was photographed paired with a knee-length skirt in place. It is clear that Bailey is playing with new trends and styling concepts, and he is still young in his role at Burberry, so we can only wait and see when it decides to grow from here.
